CMPC Mentorship

CMPC Mentorship for Hopeful CMPCs

CMPC Mentorship

Persistence Psych partners with graduate students and post-graduates to help them secure the mentorship hours required for the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential.

According to the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, the goal of this mentorship is to advance the mentee's professional education and development in the field of applied sport psychology. This relationship is educational and collegial rather than supervisory. Mentees are expected to practice within the limits of their education, training, experience, licensure, and adhere to the ethical standards and laws of their profession and region. They will only work with clients and apply techniques for which they are already qualified, independent of the mentorship. Consequently, the mentor bears no direct or indirect responsibility for the mentee's services, methods, or client outcomes.

The mentorship's educational content will cover topics such as psychological research and theory in applied sport psychology, assessment methods, intervention techniques, planning and evaluating interventions, practice development and marketing, the business of sport psychology, ethical considerations, case reviews, and other relevant subjects agreed upon by both parties.
